The issue of allowing weddings and the opening of gyms, as well as the cancellation of the Click Away & Click in Shop operating hours in stores, are in the center of attention of the authorities, while experts give the green light to resume activities one after another.
Development Minister Adonis Georgiadis, speaking on the air of the OPEN TV channel, explained that everything was done in connection with vaccination, and focused on May 15, the opening day of tourism, as the date for lifting restrictions in stores and a possible lifting of the ban on music in cafes and restaurants.
“As the vaccination progresses, the results will be better,” the minister said. “The beaches are opening today, and within a week decisions will be made on wedding venues and catering,” said Mr Georgiadis, adding: “Over time, the number of people who will be able to take part in the events will increase.”
Regarding exhibitions and festivals, he said that “they will work if the vaccinations are as successful as we expect.”
At the same time, he clarified that the Click Away & Click in Shop mode is valid until May 14 and will be canceled on the 15th, along with the opening of tourism. “This regime created difficulties for consumers, so the number of buyers fell. “Everything went wrong …”, he added with regret.
As for the ban on music in cafes and restaurants, the minister said that this is a requirement of a committee of experts: “From May 15, with the opening of tourism, it would be good to allow this,” he added.
Regarding the main issue of gyms, which have suffered more than any other sector, the minister clarified that it was a matter of time since the committee published the timetable yesterday. “First, they will open to the vaccinated, and then gradually to the rest. We will have a new schedule within a week. ” However, he explained that “those who even received the first dose of the vaccine” will be able to exercise, meaning that young people who have been vaccinated so far with the first dose of AstraZeneca and are expecting a second dose in two months will be able to go to the gym again.
He continued that “up to 17 people will be allowed to train in open areas, and in early June, gyms will be open to all citizens.
Finally, with regard to the platform that supports catering, he pointed out that “opening is a matter of a few days,” and added that something similar would be done for lawyers and tourism, and for playgrounds that have been closed for several months.
