How long is the immunity from the vaccine?

The President of the National Vaccination Committee, Maria Theodoridou, during a coronavirus briefing on 05/05, referred to early findings on the duration of immunity afforded by the vaccine.

Regarding the duration of immunity after vaccination, Ms Theodoridou stressed that re-infection in the first 3 months is extremely rare, while studies indicate 6 and 9 months of protection.

No antibody test required
“Many citizens are worried about the effectiveness of the vaccine and rush to test for antibodies. At the same time, it should be noted that the result can be negative, which has many interpretations. However, this reinforces the mistrust of vaccines, ”said Ms Maria Theodoridou.

As noted by the chairman of the National Committee on Vaccination, the determination of antibodies is important for epidemiological surveillance.

“After vaccination, antibody testing is not recommended,” added Ms Theodoridou.

Other doctors advise that before getting the vaccine, it would be good to have tests (blood tests):

A total test for the determination of IgA, IgM and IgG antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. And an anticoagulation test (for the risk of thrombosis).

Based on the results of which it is possible to understand whether it is possible (and whether it is necessary) to make a vaccine, and also give recommendations for the first 3 days after the administration of the drug, so that everything goes well (some are prescribed aspirin to prevent thrombosis within 3 days).

Attention! Analyzes are prescribed and interpreted by a doctor. Although they can be done privately, without a referral at any diagnostic center. Do not self-medicate or take drugs that your doctor has not prescribed.

Take care of your health!
