After a full six months of suspension, cafes and restaurants across the country have come to life again.

The opening of the catering industry is taking place within a strict framework of measures, and the first images provided by Greek photo agencies are particularly encouraging. From the first days of work, employees and owners began to prepare their stores to receive visitors.

Speaking today on the ERT TV channel, Development Minister Adonis Georgiadis announced the extension of the catering schedule from May 15, when tourism will open. Let us remind you that from today, May 3, restaurants are open until 22:45, without music and exclusively in the open air.

The corresponding ministerial decree will be in effect until next Monday, May 10. Among other things, it is provided that the personnel working in catering establishments, for example, in restaurants, cafes, Internet cafes, canteens, snack bars, etc. without fail, self-test is carried out on a regular basis.

Enterprises licensed for medical care and providing catering services will operate under the following conditions:

a) exclusively outdoors;
b) placing only visitors sitting at the tables;
c) lack of music.

Basic requirements for work in the framework of protection against covid:

disinfection of menus and surfaces when changing clients at tables; placing a bottle of disinfectant on the table; mandatory use of the mask by staff and customers while waiting; you can be up to six people at the table; compliance with the distances between chairs, as well as tables in the area of ​​the institution and compliance with the rules of hygiene; it is allowed to use a bar counter with two chairs put together, which are located at a distance of one and a half meters from each subsequent pair of chairs; the ability to work from 05:00 to 22:45; services for the delivery of ready-made food packaged to take away, i.e. take away, delivery and drive-through are allowed even after 23:00, but without buyers staying in the internal or external zone of the catering establishment.

As a reminder, on Easter Sunday the curfew starts at 22:00, and on Easter Monday at 23:00. Please note that there are severe penalties for companies that violate the sanitary protocol and the provisions of the ministerial decree.
