The United States has declared space a war zone, according to The Washington Post.
Air Force General John Raymond, commander of the United States Space Force, has declared space a war zone. He warns that China and Russia have weapons capable of destroying US satellites. The general talks about this in an interview with The Washington Post:
“It is obvious that space is an area of war, just like air, land and sea. This is something that has really come true over the past few years, since both China, which is our constant threat, and Russia have developed weapons that can either disrupt the work of our satellites or destroy them. “
Raymond believes that the goal of the Space Force should be containment, not a conflict that “starts or spreads into space.” And he said that the United States, in order to avoid catastrophes on satellites and other objects, intends to act as “dispatchers” of space to control movement in it.
