The investigation of the remains of the buried man and confirmation (or refutation) of the established causes of death was requested by the relatives of the 58-year-old resident of the nursing home in Chania, where he died.

As it became known, the family of the deceased man filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies. Recall that a nursing home in Chania has become a byword after a “flurry” of complaints filed against staff in connection with the established facts of rude, inhuman and cruel treatment of old people in a “godly institution”. Moreover, the number of elderly people who died there last year was not recorded. According to the Open TV channel, the number of the deceased is expected to exceed 80.

What actually happened and is happening in the nursing home is not fully understood. It is known that relatives of elderly people who died in a nursing home accuse the management of bullying their relatives, stealing and extorting money, transferring property to third parties (donations for real estate, etc.).

An elderly woman’s niece who lived in a nursing home in Chania complains that her aunt’s property has been taken away. In particular, she stated that she was forced to sell the property at a much lower price than the real one. She also told the site zarpanews.gr that a relative had about 30 pounds of gold and jewelry that disappeared in an unknown direction. The former nursing home employee contributed to the investigation by reporting incidents of elder abuse he witnessed. According to the applicant, the staff were ordered not to feed those living there, and to avoid complaints they were allegedly given sedatives. Thus, the family of a 58-year-old cancer patient, who was detained and died in a nursing home earlier this year, filed a complaint with the police asking for the exhumation and forensic examination of their relative.

20 witnesses will be called to testify in court. Currently, competent law enforcement officers are looking for former guests of the institution, who at some point, for one reason or another, left the “hell house”.

The authorities hope to persuade them to testify in order to confirm or deny the actions of the staff, which are characterized as violent.
