A 35-year-old man was arrested in Acharnes for robbing shops in Attica with his accomplice using firearms.
The Attica Police Department has arrested a 35-year-old citizen who is accused of a series of armed robberies and thefts, as well as violation of the law on weapons and drugs. His accomplice is on the wanted list.
According to ΕΛΑΣ, since September 2020, the criminal, together with his accomplice, has been robbing gas stations, supermarkets and other trading enterprises located in various districts of Attica (Kolonos, Agios Ioannis Rentis, Peristeri, Paleo Faliro, Neos Kosmos and Nea Smirni).
In the course of the investigation, the method of action of the criminals was established: one of them was waiting outside the store, while the other, wearing a motorcycle helmet, burst into the store and, threatening the staff with a pistol, took the money.
During a search in the house of a 35-year-old man, two pistols, a small amount of cocaine and clothes that were used in armed robberies were found and confiscated.
To date, as a result of preliminary investigation, 9 cases of robbery and 1 theft of a motorcycle have been established. The accused of the crimes was taken to the Athens prosecutor’s office.
