A criminal who attacked a pregnant woman with bleach was arrested

Authorities arrested a 25-year-old young man who is accused of assaulting a pregnant woman in Kipseli.

According to information from police sources, the young man was detained in an apartment at his place of residence. The perpetrator is an old acquaintance of a 25-year-old pregnant woman. They met that evening to discuss their differences. But the guy decided to “punish” his girlfriend, and put a cloth soaked in bleach to her face. And then he ran away. The victim with facial burns was admitted to the Evangelismos hospital.

The offender was taken to the prosecutor’s office. As “Russian Athens” wrote earlier, it was quickly established that the attacker had used household bleach – bleach. This substance, of course, is not an acid, which poured over John at Kallithea, but it can also damage health, especially vision. According to ALPHA, the tests showed that the fabric with which the perpetrator covered the mouth of the pregnant woman was soaked in bleach.

As a reminder, a city woman, who is 4 months pregnant, complained to ΕΛ.ΑΣ that an unknown man attacked her with caustic liquid when she walked along Kipseli at night (from Sunday to Monday, April 11-12). According to preliminary information, the woman covered her face with a cloth with some caustic solution.

In particular, as she reported to the police, while walking along Epirou Street, not far from the Church of Ag. Kyriaki, a car suddenly stopped next to her. A man jumped out of it, immobilized the victim and applied a wet cloth to his face, after which he disappeared. The girl was admitted to the Evangelismos hospital, and the police began to investigate the incident.

What local residents say about this

“Even if we had heard something, we would not have come out,” the frightened residents say, commenting on the incident. “We are locked in our houses and are constantly afraid. Often we have to hear screams and swearing coming from the street from young people, arranging a showdown among themselves. Someone goes to the rescue, and someone is afraid and does not come out,” one of the local residents.

However, other neighbors of the young girl, who has been living with her boyfriend in Kipseli for about two years, speak of them as a “quiet couple”. Recall that about two months ago, this girl was attracted by the police for a specific crime.

As for the direction of the investigation by law enforcement agencies, the authorities carefully studied the list of the woman’s personal contacts, identified and arrested the perpetrator.
