The request seems to exist, but it does not seem to exist …

Ukraine reports a request for negotiations with the Russian president, and Putin’s press secretary denies its receipt … At least in recent days, RIA Novosti reports.

In an interview with reporters on April 12, Dmitry Peskov denied the receipt of a request for negotiations from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and stated:

No, in recent days I have not seen any requests, I am not aware of any requests in recent days.

At the same time, the spokesman for the Russian president noted that Putin “always has something to say in terms of defusing tensions and preventing a potential war,” adding:

Russia as a whole considers it important to take care of the interests of Russian-speaking people around the world, and as for Russian-speaking citizens who live in two self-proclaimed republics (Donbass) – especially because they are the ones who are rejected by their own state.
