Early Monday morning, 12/04, businessmen and workers gathered outside the Kozani City Hall to protest the authorities’ decision not to open retail outlets.
The government’s decision to give the green light to the opening of stores in Patras and Thessaloniki, but not in the regional unit of Kozani, has angered citizens, who, according to kozan.gr, are demanding to reopen trade businesses.
According to media reports, unemployed cancer patient Marios Tenzoglidis was among the protesters who urged their fellow citizens to disobey the authorities outside the city hall. A desperate father of two, who is struggling with an incurable disease, doomed his family to hunger and cold, because the electricity in the house where they live was cut off for debts.
