Large department stores will open on Monday 19 April, Panayiotis Stampoulidis, Secretary General for Trade and Consumer Protection, announced.
“From Monday, large department stores will open, which are operated by one legal entity and are not shopping centers,” said Mr. Stampoulidis speaking on SKAI.
The Secretary General of Trade added that the message implies: “When we comply with the measures, the experts are even more trusting and accommodating the parties involved, doing their best to keep the market working”.
Regarding the changes that are taking place in stores from today, Panayiotis Stampoulidis said: “We have canceled the limit of 20 people in stores. Now, in sales areas up to 500 square meters, the order is valid: 1 person per 25 square meters. This will allow companies with large areas to operate normally. “
Regarding the self-test, the Secretary General for Trade and Consumer Protection noted that the government’s decision to involve them in the process of opening schools and the rest of society was justified, noting that self-testing, vaccination and compliance, as well as weather conditions, together can be effective tools for doing so. so that everything “goes well” in May. The official noted that self tests will gradually be available to everyone.
