Buckingham Palace sadly announces the death on April 9 of the Duke of Edinburgh, wife of Queen Elizabeth II.
Prince Philip did not live to see his 100th birthday for only 2 months. The message reads: “The royal family, along with people around the world, mourn the loss.”
The Duke of Edinburgh was 99 years old, he was born on June 10, 1921 and did not live to see his birthday for two months. Earlier this year, Prince Philip was hospitalized unwell. He was later transferred to St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, where he underwent heart surgery. Prince Philip returned to Windsor Castle in mid-March.
