In the official account of the drug “Sputnik V” on Twitter, there was a message about the beginning of negotiations between Germany and the Russian Direct Investment Fund. A preliminary agreement on the purchase of a Russian vaccine is being discussed.
Earlier it was reported that more than 57% of German citizens are ready to be vaccinated with the Russian drug “Sputnik V” if approved by the European Union and the competent authorities of Germany. According to the Forsa Institute, the number of people wishing to be vaccinated with “Sputnik V” is growing rapidly.
The day before, Jens Spahn, the German health minister, said that Berlin would initiate a dialogue with Moscow. The main issues of interest to Germany are the volumes and timing of possible deliveries. However, the purchase of vaccines is possible only after the approval of the EMA – the European Medicines Agency.
“Sputnik V” is a successful result of the activities of scientists from the Gamaleya Research Center for Electrochemistry. The drug they developed became the world’s first registered vaccine based on the human adenovirus and is among the ten best vaccine candidates on the WHO list.
