The Downdetector portal, which tracks the activities of Internet resources, reported numerous user requests related to failures in Facebook and Instagram.
Problems began to appear at 00.25, on the night of Thursday 8 April to Friday. Most users were unable to log into their account or download the app. 1,480 people reported failures in Facebook, of which 12% experienced problems with logging in, and 87% complained about the site’s operation.
A much larger number of users, 10,133, reported failures in Instagram: 29% experienced difficulties logging in, 58% reported the inability to download, 12% drew attention to problems with the Internet resource.
Problems with the work of Instagram and Facebook were signaled by users from the USA, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Spain, Austria, Italy, Ecuador, Mexico and other countries. By about 2:00, the situation returned to normal.
