A senior European Medicines Agency (EMA) official admitted there is a link between the AstraZeneca vaccine and blood clots, but the reason is not yet clear.
The European Medicines Agency was forced to admit that the problem with the AstraZeneca vaccine could no longer be overlooked and silenced. Earlier statements showed that the number of cases is extremely small and, against the background of the number of vaccinated, fits into the statistical error. But after Germany abandoned this vaccine, the EMA was forced to talk about the problems with it.
After banning, at least temporarily, the production of AstraZeneca vaccine in the United States at its Baltimore plant, the British-Swedish pharmaceutical company faced a new, even more important problem after a senior European Medicines Agency (EMA) official admitted to the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero.
The official acknowledged that there is a link between the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine and the appearance of blood clots.

The head of the EMA vaccine department, Marco Cavaleri, told the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero: “In my opinion, we can say this now, it is clear that there is a connection with the vaccine, although it was not clear what provoked such a reaction.” He also said that the connection will be confirmed by the organization in the coming hours.

Just yesterday, the UK health regulator announced that it was considering a proposal not to administer the Covid-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford to young people due to concerns about rare cases of blood clots.
A French news agency reported: “Two senior sources said that while the data remains unclear, there is growing evidence to support the proposal to refuse the AstraZeneca vaccine to young people under 30 years of age.”
Greek experts on AstraZeneca: don’t worry, everything is fine
General Secretary of Primary Health Care, Marios Themistokleous, on the morning of April 5 on ANT1, commented on the anxiety of citizens caused by some episodes of thrombosis from the AstraZeneca vaccine.
“According to European countries, there is no cause for concern about the AstraZeneca vaccine. The incidence of thrombosis is 1 in 346,000. Since all drugs have side effects, the AstraZeneca vaccine also has side effects. But they are negligible, ”he said.
The expert noted that all coronavirus vaccines are evaluated daily. “Everything has been proven to be safe and completely effective,” said the specialist.
However, the expert “forgot” to clarify that often cases of thrombosis are fatal. And the residents of Greece already have a lot of questions about the reliability of the information, both to the “experts” themselves and to the officials responsible for purchases.
