Serbia: it’s never too late to get vaccinated

Ilona Kovac, a 107-year-old resident of Serbia, received the second dose of the vaccine. According to the doctors of the city hospital, she feels great, RIA Novosti reports.

Ilona Kovacs from the Serbian city of Novi Sad received a second vaccination against coronavirus. It is not reported what kind of drug she received, but 3 vaccines have been approved for use in the country – Pfizer / BioNTech, Sputnik V, Sinopharm (China). Serbian citizens have the right to choose an affordable drug by submitting electronic vaccination applications.

The second dose of the vaccine was given to the woman at home. Her state of health is excellent. According to Zorka Bakovic, coordinator of the public relations department of the city polyclinic, Ilona Kovacs herself wanted to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

In March, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced plans to start production of two vaccines in the country – Russia’s Sputnik V and China’s Sinopharm. An agreement on this was reached with Moscow in February.
