The authorities announced that retailing in non-food items will be allowed from Monday 5 April. But shopping malls and large stores will not open yet.
Today, Wednesday March 31st, the National Public Health Agency announced 3,616 new cases of Covid-19 in Greece.
The government, at the suggestion of a committee of scientists, has made adjustments to existing measures “to achieve better results at all levels,” Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management Nikos Hardallas said during a briefing on the coronavirus pandemic.
“As in the case of hairdressing salons,” stressed Mr. Hardalias, “the outlets that will be opened will operate in full compliance with the rules and protection measures.”
In particular, the Deputy Minister announced that from Monday April 5, retail stores, shopping centers will be allowed to operate using a special code in 13032, and no more than three hours will be allocated for purchases, in total, during the day. Also, stores “will be allowed to sell goods outside the store by appointment, using the click away method, and sell in the store by appointment, using click in shop (by appointment). Inside the store will be allowed one customer per 25 sq. M. Area with a maximum 20 clients on a case-by-case basis. “
Nikos Hardalias also announced that from Saturday, April 3 and only on weekends, the use of code 6 will allow outdoor driving for exercise, up to 3 people or a family.
With regard to schools, large department stores and shopping malls, Mr. Hardalias said that the question of opening them will be raised next week. Schools are slated to open on April 12, with the mandatory test for all students.
