Today, Wednesday March 31st, the National Public Health Agency announced 3,616 new cases of Covid-19 in Greece.
Over the previous day, 4340 cases were registered. At the same time, according to EODY, 739 patients were intubated in the intensive care unit, 76 new deaths were registered.
As a reminder, most of the cases reported by EODY in one day were announced yesterday – March 30, when 4,340 cases were identified in 24 hours. In addition, the highest number of deaths due to the virus in 24 hours was recorded on Saturday, November 28, when 121 patients died.

New laboratory confirmed cases of the disease registered in the last 24 hours amount to 3,616 infected, of which 20 were detected after checks at the entrance to Greece. The total number of cases is 263,689 (daily change + 1.4%), of which 51.5% are men. Based on confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 97 cases are considered to be related to travel from abroad, and 2511 to a known case. The R index is estimated at 0.98 (95% Crl: 0.31-1.5).
There are 76 new deaths of patients with COVID-19, with a total of 8,093 deaths since the beginning of the epidemic. 95.7% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years of age or older.
The number of patients who underwent intubation was 739 (63.7% of men). Their average age is 68. 82.9% have an underlying disease and / or are 70 years of age or older. Since the start of the pandemic, 1701 patients have been discharged from intensive care units. 479 new patients with Covid-19 admitted to hospitals (daily shift + 19.15%).
On average, 431 patients are admitted to hospitals within seven days. The average age of cases is 44 years (from 0.2 to 105 years), and the average age of the deceased is 79 years (from 0 to 103 years).
Samples tested: From January 1, 2020 to the present, in laboratories that conduct tests for the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and which systematically indicate the total number of samples tested, 4,171,213 clinical samples have been tested, while in EODY subdivisions that carry out Rapid Ag tests, 2,364,533 samples were tested. The seven-day average is 40,199 spot checks.
