Lenten table: what will be served to guests in the presidential palace

The finest delicious dishes from the presidential menu, prepared exclusively from seafood in connection with Lent and signed by the famous chef Lefteris Lazaros, will be served tomorrow to distinguished guests at a dinner party in the government apartments – in the Megaro Maximu Palace.

Few have received such an honor. In total, about 45 high-ranking guests of the President of the Republic on the night of March 25 will enjoy breathtaking delicacies of the highest quality, dishes in an exclusive design. Among the honored guests named: the Prime Minister of Russia, Mr. Mishustin, the heir to the British throne, Prince Charles of Wales with his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, French Defense Minister Florence Parley and others.

Katerina Sakellaropoulou invited Michelin star Lefteris Lazarou to compose an exquisite Greek menu.

The spirida fish (grouper) – a trademark of past presidential dinners – has been dropped from the list of dishes. Nevertheless, guests will be offered “modest” seafood: as a sign of hospitality, honored guests will be greeted with cookies with cuttlefish ink, white cream salad from small fish caviar (taramosalata) and other dishes.

Then the soup will be served – fish ear kakavya made from peskandritsa fish caught in the waters of Evia, generously flavored with excellent selected olive oil from Kalamata. The second will be served with puree shrimp soup, dolmadakya (rice wrapped in grape leaves), seasoned with the world famous saffron from Kozani.

Then fish fillet with rutabaga puree with Cretan cherry tomatoes will appear on the table, and for dessert – white chocolate with the famous mastic of Chios and pistachios from Aegina. The menu has been designed to highlight the traditional cuisine and the variety of distinctive Greek products.

As it became known, white wine from Greek vineyards will be served on the table. The dinner will end with a sweet red wine “Aposperity” from Lipson Winery.
