Crediting money to the settlement accounts of landlords affected by the pandemic

At present, 80 million euros have been credited to the bank accounts of 156,696 property owners. This is a subsidy through which the state covers up to 80% of the rent reduction in January.

The beneficiaries will receive money to their current account in the coming days, depending on the financial flow of each particular bank.

Last Friday, funds were also allocated totaling € 8.7 million to 119,440 property owners. Thus, to date, 276,136 landlords affected by the pandemic have been paid 88.7 million euros in the first month of the year.

The total amount of financing for damages due to reduced rent for the period from March 2020 to January 2021 totals 177.4 million euros.

As “Russian Athens” previously wrote, since the start of the pandemic in March last year and the adoption of emergency support measures by the government, the model of compensation for “income” for partial loss of lease did not provide for financial support until November 2020.

For “lost” rents from March to October, homeowners were eligible for tax exemptions as 30% of their losses were offset by income tax or ENFIA liabilities.

Starting in November 2020, the state issued a decree to pay compensation to landlords in the form of a subsidy, in cash.
